Polish Songs
First Song:
Hej Sokoły or "Hey Falcons" is a very popular song in Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia and Belarus. The lyrics exist in several versions about a Ukrainian girl to whom her betrothed, a cossack, says goodbye for the last time. The song was believed to have been written by Ukrainian-Polish poet-songwriter Tomasz Padura in the first half of the 19th century. The history of the song is unclear, it is sometimes presented as being either, or both, a Polish folk song or Ukrainian folk song. The tune was popular among Polish soldiers during the Polish-Soviet War, and was also sung by the Polish Home Army guerrillas during World War II.

Karaoke version:
Lyrics:
Hej sokoły!
Hej, tam gdzieś z nad czarnej wody
Wsiada na koń kozak młody.
Czule żegna się z dziewczyną,
Jeszcze czulej z Ukrainą.
Refren:
Hej, hej, hej sokoły
Omijajcie góry, lasy, doły.
Dzwoń, dzwoń, dzwoń dzwoneczku,
Mój stepowy skowroneczku.
Hej, hej, hej sokoły
Omijajcie góry, lasy, doły.
Dzwoń, dzwoń, dzwoń dzwoneczku,
Mój stepowy
Dzwoń, dzwoń, dzwoń
Wiele dziewcząt jest na świecie,
Lecz najwięcej w Ukrainie.
Tam me serce pozostało,
Przy kochanej mej dziewczynie.
Refren .
Żal, żal za dziewczyną,
Za zieloną Ukrainą,
Żal, żal serce płacze,
Już jej więcej nie zobaczę.
(Refren)
Wina, wina, wina dajcie,
A jak umrę pochowajcie
Na zielonej Ukrainie
Przy kochanej mej dziewczynie

Translation:
Hey falcons!
Somewhere from beneath that black water
A young uhlan* mounts his horse
He tenderly bids farewell to his girl
Even more tenderly to the Ukraine
(refrain:)
Hey, hey, hey falcons
Pass the mountains, forests, pits
Ring, ring, ring my little bell
In the steppe
Ring, ring, ring
Sorry, sorry for the girl
For the green Ukraine
Sorry, sorry, one's heart is weeping
I'll never see you again
(refrain)
She, she remained there
My little swallow, my baby
In the green Ukraine
At my beloved girl's place
(refrain)
Wine, wine, wine, wine – give it to me
And when I die bury me
In the green Ukraine
At my beloved girl's place
Hey falcons!
Somewhere from beneath that black water
A young uhlan* mounts his horse
He tenderly bids farewell to his girl
Even more tenderly to the Ukraine

Przybyli ułani pod okienko
Przybyli ułani pod okienko, (bis)
Pukają, wołają: "puść panienko! "(bis)
Zaświecił miesiączek do okienka,
W koszulce stanęła w nim panienka.
"O Jezu, a cóż to za wojacy?"
"Otwieraj! Nie bój się to czwartacy!"
"O Jezu! A dokąd Bóg prowadzi?"
"Warszawę odwiedzić byśmy radzi.
Gdy zwiedzim Warszawę, już nam pilno
Zobaczyć to stare nasze Wilno.
. A z Wilna już droga jest gotowa,
Prowadzi prościutko aż do Lwowa.
"O Jezu, a cóż to za mizeria?"
"Otwórz no, panienko! Kawaleria."
Przyszliśmy napoić nasze konie,
Za nami piechoty pełne błonie."
"O Jezu! A cóż to za hołota?"
"Otwórz no panienko! To piechota!"
Panienka otwierać poskoczyła,
Żołnierzy do środka zaprosiła.

Translation:
Came the Uhlans
The uhlans came to the house
They're knocking, they're calling: "Let us in, miss!" (bis)
the Moon lighted to the window,
And miss has looked by it.
"Jesus, what kind of soldiers are you?"
"Open! Don't be afraid, we're from 4th!" *
"Jesus, Where the God lead you all?"
"We're going to visit Warsaw.
And after all, we're in hurry
to see our old Vilnius.
And from Vilnius they way is ready -
it will lead us straight to Lvov."
"Jesus, what kind of poor is it?"
"Open miss! It's a cavalry!."
We're here to give our horses water to drink,
We left so much field behind."
"Jesus, what kind of rabble is it?"
"Open miss! It's an infantry!"
Miss has opened the door quickly,
and invited soldiers to the house.
